Nancy Cook’s poem “Midland“, a response to the 2020 flood that made national headlines, was the winner of the Founder’s Prize in the 2020 poetry contest of the Poetry Society of Michigan.

This year’s runner up for the Founder’s Prize in the Poetry Society of Michigan’s annual contest was Marion Frahm Tincknell who paints us a vivid picture of something lost.

The George Dila Memorial Prize is given to the best prose poem entered in the PSM annual poetry contest. The winning poet is Nancy Cook, who offers this advice:
